Performing Arts

Schooling at G. D. Goenka Public School goes beyond the classrooms into the wider creative world outside. Apart from a keen focus on academics, various creative activities are taught that engage the mental and intellectual faculties of our students. Music and Dance, both Indian and Western are offered to our students. The school motto “Higher, Stronger, Brighter” takes on a new hue as students are trained in the performing arts. Confidence building, personality development and artistic skill are taught to our students, who delve into the artistic details with great enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. Festivals and presentations held from time to time in the school are occasions to showcase budding talent in the school. The students also regularly take part in several inter-school events and have done the school proud by winning many of such events. Undoubtedly, the pursuit of such creative activities adds another meaningful dimension to school life.

Classical and contemporary dance training is imparted to engage young bodies and minds in creatively fulfilling activities. Students gain valuable knowledge through this process of creative learning and also become deeply sensitive to our rich traditions and heritage. Systematic training enables them to also delve into the choreographic process eventually. Dancing is truly a refreshing way to fuse school schedules with creativity and a commitment to perfection. The budding actors of the school engage themselves in dramatics. Drama is an age-old art form that has been known to build the confidence and personality of young adults. Classical plays, serious theatre and refreshing comic theatre are explored with the students and the teacher becoming friends. Theatre is thus seen as a potent tool to build the personality of the Goenkans and to equip them to face the world outside.
